Which Ohio voucher does a Cleveland family use?
A family inside the Cleveland Metropolitan School District uses the Cleveland Scholarship; a family anywhere else in the five counties uses EdChoice Expansion, or traditional EdChoice if the child would be assigned to a designated building. All three pay up to $6,166 for K-8 and $8,408 for high school in 2026-27.
How many Greater Cleveland private schools can accept a voucher?
Only chartered nonpublic schools can, and Ohio's directory lists 181 of our 243 schools that way. Each one also registers year by year as a provider, so ask whether it is taking scholarship students for your child's grade.
Does the court case threaten vouchers in Cleveland?
The appeals ruling of October 15, 2026 concerns EdChoice and is on hold while the state appeals, so EdChoice payments continue. The Cleveland Scholarship is a separate program that the Diocese of Cleveland says the lawsuit does not reach.
What does a voucher leave for the family to pay?
Fees, uniforms, books, transportation and aftercare, plus any tuition above the award unless the family has verified low-income status. That protection covers K-8 only in the Cleveland Scholarship but every grade in EdChoice.

| Autism Scholarship | Autism, from age 3 | Up to $34,000 |
What should we do next?
Take the two-minute funding check. A tuition counselor will confirm which voucher your address unlocks, what else your child qualifies for and which dates apply.
