Is Ohio part of the federal scholarship tax credit?

Yes. The Ohio Society of CPAs reported that Ohio was already among the participating states on the IRS list as of May 15, 2026. Donations count from January 1, 2027, and only to organizations Ohio puts on its list.

What could the federal credit mean for a Parma or Cleveland family?

Possibly a second pot of scholarship money, open to households below three times the area median and paid for by donors claiming up to $1,700 each. For a family whose high school costs well above the $8,408 voucher, it is a potential new layer; it can also cover some expenses for public school students.

Which Northeast Ohio SGOs will take federally credited gifts?

Unknown yet. By late October 2026 Ohio had not released which organizations will be eligible for federally credited gifts. Once it does, the Northeast Ohio names go on this page and into our funding check.
