Heritage Christian School (Brooklyn): Voucher Status & Funding

About these records. Each school combines the federal Private School Survey (NCES 2023-24, or 2021-22 where a school skipped the latest round) with Ohio's state school directory (OEDS) and DEW's 2026-27 list of non-chartered schools, both pulled October 28, 2026. "Chartered" means OEDS lists the school as a chartered nonpublic school, the only kind that can take Cleveland Scholarship or EdChoice students; schools also register each year as providers, so confirm with the school. Neither agency collects tuition.

Can a voucher be used at Heritage Christian School?

Pre-K

Ask about Universal Pre-K (Cuyahoga), the Ohio Preschool Program and child care subsidy

No. DEW's 2026-27 roster of nonchartered nonpublic schools names Heritage Christian School. Those schools run without a state charter on religious grounds, so Cleveland Scholarship and EdChoice dollars cannot follow a child there; tuition is set and supported by the school and its church.

Since the school enrolls pre-K, ask whether its preschool takes Cuyahoga County's Universal Pre-K scholarship, the Ohio Preschool Program or publicly funded child care. The vouchers begin at kindergarten.

Christian schools around Cleveland often price for church members and siblings, and the Lutheran Scholarship Granting Organization of Ohio and the Hearthside Christian Scholarship Fund are among the local SGOs that fund Christian school scholarships.
